Our story
My love for flowers was handed down to me from my mom. She was a master gardener and the plants in her garden truly reflected her love of nature and her passion for creating. She taught me how to design gardens by colour, bloom cycles and plant hardiness, with special attention to how each plant reacted within their new environment. We kept journals and shared countless hours discussing how to adjust our past practices for future success.
My husband and I spent 30 years in Toronto bringing up our three children, where he ran a successful communications business, and I worked as a nurse, moonlighting as a gardener in the spring and fall. We purchased the Munroe’s Mills Farm in 2001 and, after extensive renovations to the outbuildings and the house, we finally made it our home in 2015.
I continue to work as a nurse 3 days a week and together we grow cut flowers, through sustainable growing practices, to produce high-quality locally grown offerings to our community and beyond.
Picked with care
We pick the flowers daily in the early morning, throughout the growing season, which is typically June until October, and have them available to pick up at our farm stand. This allows our customers to see the flowers up close, smell their fragrances, and get a sense of the farm and the people who grow the flowers. We offer pre-made bouquets, or self-selected individual stems to create your own arrangements. Customers can also place an order for a custom bouquet. Our goal is for customers to have easy access to high-quality, locally grown flowers, and to have a more personal and immersive shopping experience.
We also offer a flower subscription option, where customers can receive regular deliveries of fresh-cut flowers directly to their doorstep. Subscribers can choose from a variety of options, such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries, and can customize their subscription to suit their preferences, including the type of flowers they receive and the size of the bouquets.
